Controls today. Production tomorrow.

Choose your I/O modules and order your development platform.
Plug in, write application code immediately, and get your machine running in days.
Lock the configuration. Puzzle turns it into your production board with your same code.

Machine controls are

expensive and hard

Building machine controls means solving the same problems over and over. Embedded teams build hardware and firmware from scratch. Industrial teams integrate PLCs, I/O, motion, and communications. Then, once the prototype works, production requires another round of engineering.

Too much engineering time is spent rebuilding the control system rather than improving the machine.

We built Puzzle to eliminate that restart.

One platform from development through production

Puzzle is a full-stack development-to-production platform for machine controls. Your working configuration is not just a prototype; it becomes the machine-readable specification for production. Once it is locked, Puzzle’s System Integration Engine generates the production implementation from validated building blocks.

Instant: configure instead of design

Purchase a development platform and the I/O modules you need. Start writing application code immediately. No custom PCB design, board bring-up, low-level firmware development, or upfront NRE.

Adaptable: change without rewriting

Develop against one consistent architecture and an open, modern SDK. No proprietary vendor IDE required. Run your application code against a physics model before hardware exists. Add or change modules as your machine evolves; your application code stays the same.

Scalable: generate production hardware

Lock your proven configuration, and Puzzle’s System Integration Engine automatically generates the schematic, PCB layout, platform firmware, bill of materials, manufacturing data, and test configuration for your custom production PCBA. Puzzle then manufactures and validates the finished board. The circuit designs you validated and the application code you wrote carry over unchanged. No hardware redesign project.

The four Puzzle founders spent their careers building and shipping billions of dollars of products at Amazon Robotics, Kiva Systems, Apple, Desktop Metal, DEKA, and Boston Scientific, with academic backgrounds spanning MIT, Stanford, Cornell, Tufts, and Northeastern.

Across very different environments, we kept seeing the same problem: machine controls were repeatedly engineered from scratch, then redesigned for production.

The breakthrough wasn’t a single new technology. It was recognizing that every machine company was solving the same controls problems independently. What was missing was a common platform, built for the whole industry, rather than rebuilding one machine at a time.

So we built Puzzle.

Puzzle carries machines from prototype through production, freeing engineers to focus on what makes their product different.

Help us change how every machine gets built

Our vision is simple: controls should be infrastructure, not a recurring development project. Puzzle is building a common platform that takes machine controls from idea to prototype to production without having to start over.
